Gold Presidential Volunteer Service Award About the Award America has a long and proud tradition of
volunteer service. Now more than ever, volunteers are renewing their
commitment to helping others and making new connections that bring us
closer together as families, as neighbors, as communities, and as a
Nation. http://www.presidentialserviceawards.gov/tg/pvsainfo/dspAboutAwards.cfm My Award This spring, I was so excited to be awarded the Gold Level President’s Volunteer Service Award for completing over 250 volunteer service hours this year! This is one of my greatest accomplishments not only because it shows me that I really can do something to make a difference, but also because I had a toe-to-knee cast on my right leg during four of the months that I spent earning the award as well as having foot surgery. This award is so special to me because it proves that nothing can slow me down or stop me from following my dreams and accomplishing my goals! My new goal is to continue to earn the President’s Volunteer Service Award at the Gold Level each year until I am at least 25! Recipients are awarded:
Any individual, family, or group can receive Presidential recognition at the Bronze, Silver, or Gold levels for volunteer hours earned over a 12-month period or over the course of a lifetime at home or abroad. |
